# AgentLine for Claude

> Connect AgentLine to claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Cowork or Claude Code so Claude can rent numbers, place calls and read transcripts and SMS on your account.

# AgentLine for Claude

AgentLine is a remote MCP connector. Once connected, Claude can create voice
agents, rent phone numbers, place and monitor calls, read transcripts and
received SMS, and manage event webhooks on your AgentLine account.

Server URL: `https://api.agentline.cloud/mcp`

## Before you connect

* An AgentLine account at [agentline.cloud](https://agentline.cloud). Sign in
  with email, Google or AgentID.
* A matching plan allowance or wallet funds for paid actions. Additional numbers
  are $2.00/month. Calls beyond included minutes are $0.10/min and need
  at least \$0.50 of wallet balance to start. Reading your data is free.
* A paid Claude plan to add connectors in claude.ai. Claude Code works on any plan.

## Connect in claude.ai, Claude Desktop or Cowork

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add the connector">

    or choose **Add custom connector** and paste
    `https://api.agentline.cloud/mcp`.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in to AgentLine">

  </Step>

  <Step title="Allow">
    Choose **Read and write** (default) or **Read only**, keep **Stay connected
    for 30 days** on, and press **Allow**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use it in a chat">
    The connector shows **Connected**. Turn it on in a chat from **+ → Connectors**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  AgentLine never receives your Claude credentials, and Claude never receives
  your AgentLine API keys or password. The connection is an OAuth grant you can
  revoke at any time.
</Note>

## Connect in Claude Code

```bash theme={null}
claude mcp add --transport http agentline https://api.agentline.cloud/mcp
```

Run `/mcp` inside Claude Code and choose **Authenticate** for AgentLine. The
same consent page opens in your browser.

## Example prompts

* "Create an AgentLine voice agent called Front Desk that books appointments for a dental clinic, rent a number in the 415 area code and attach it."
* "Call +14155550100 with my Front Desk agent, ask whether they are open on Saturday, and summarise the transcript when it finishes."
* "Show my AgentLine calls from this week with their duration and cost."
* "Set the webhook for my Front Desk agent to [https://example.com/hooks/agentline](https://example.com/hooks/agentline) and send a test event."
* "What is my AgentLine balance and where did I spend it this month?"

## Permissions

| Permission | Tools |
| - | - |
| Read only | List and get agents, contacts, numbers, calls, transcripts, received messages, balance and spend, voices, webhook configuration and feedback. Peek at pending events. |
| Read and write | Everything above, plus create, update and delete agents and contacts; buy and release numbers; place and hang up calls; push context into a live call; consume events; set, test and delete webhooks; change the account voice; submit feedback. |

Claude asks you before any tool that charges your account, contacts a third
party or removes something: buying or releasing a number, placing a call,
pushing context into a live call, consuming events, replacing a webhook and
deleting an agent.

<Warning>
  You are responsible for having consent to call the people your agent contacts
  and for following the calling rules where they are. AgentLine numbers cannot
  reach emergency services. See the [terms of service](https://agentline.cloud/terms).
</Warning>

## Revoke the connection

Open [Dashboard → Account data](https://agentline.cloud/dashboard/privacy) and
press **Revoke** next to the Claude connection. Claude loses access
immediately. You can also remove the connector from Claude's
**Customize → Connectors** page.

## Troubleshooting

| What you see | Why | Fix |
| - | - | - |
| **Reconnect** after about an hour | The connection was approved without **Stay connected for 30 days** | Reconnect and leave the checkbox on |
| `Read Only connection cannot modify data` | The connection was approved as **Read only** | Revoke it in the dashboard and reconnect with **Read and write** |
| `Insufficient balance` | The matching plan allowance and wallet funds are exhausted | Add credit from the dashboard, then ask Claude to retry |
| `Couldn't reach the MCP server` | Temporary outage or network block | Try again, then [contact support](https://agentline.cloud/contact) |
| "This sign-in request expired" on the consent page | More than 10 minutes passed since Claude opened it | Start the connection again from Claude |

## Headless agents and other MCP clients

Clients that cannot open a browser use an API key instead of the login. On the
consent page choose **Use an API key instead**, or connect with `mcp-remote`
and a Bearer key as described in the [MCP guide](/guides/mcp). Never put a key
in a URL.
